Building America’s Future Expands Chaos at the Border Campaign to the North, Urging Lawmakers to Take Action
“It’s time to take President Trump’s southern border playbook to the north.”
WASHINGTON — The conservative nonprofit Building America’s Future (BAF) today announced a major expansion of its “Chaos at the Border” campaign by releasing a new ad that urges policymakers in Washington to implement President Trump’s successful southern border playbook up north to stop criminals from exploiting Canada’s open border policies.
The 60-second ad, “Predator,” will run on TV and digital platforms in the Washington, DC media market this week and kicks off a new six-figure campaign advocating for a crackdown on the border between Canada and the United States. This expansion of BAF’s “Chaos at the Border” project comes after the group’s successful $2 million effort in 2024 that exposed the disastrous results of the Biden-Harris crisis at the southern border.
Drug traffickers, human smugglers, and organized crime rings are taking full advantage of the Canadian government’s failure to act at our northern border. Their inability to enforce commonsense border policies creates an open invitation for those who wish to do harm, using Canada as a gateway into the United States. This week’s election of Canada’s new liberal Prime Minister Mark Carney highlights the need for an enhanced accountability campaign focused on strengthening northern border security as Carney’s liberal approach to the issue will surely make matters worse.
BAF’s northern border campaign will focus on three pressing issues:
- Drug Smuggling & The Fentanyl Crisis: Drugs smuggled across the border are fueling a surge in overdose deaths in American communities
- Illegal Immigration & Human Trafficking: The rapid flow of unvetted illegal migrants strains U.S. resources and weakens national security
- Illicit Trade & Money Laundering: Illicit trade is often funneled into money laundering schemes, which perpetuates the criminal economy and undermines both governance and financial integrity

TRANSCRIPT:
Predators make their attack when their prey isn’t looking, when their guard is down.
We were the prey… until Donald Trump showed up.
Shutting down illegal crossings.
CLIP: Illegal crossings along the southern border are now at the lowest level they’ve been in nearly five years.
Cutting off the flow of deadly drugs.
CLIP: Officials here tell us that under the Trump administration, they’ve been empowered to go harder after the Mexican cartel.
Donald Trump put the predators on their heels.
So they’re looking for a different plan of attack.
International criminals are taking advantage of our open northern border to move illicit drugs and grow their human trafficking operations.
They’re doing this because no one is paying attention.
For years, the Canadian government has turned a blind eye to crime pouring into the United States.
CLIP: New numbers show a fifty-fold rise in illegal crossings at our northern border.
If you want something done right, do it yourself.
It’s time to take President Trump’s southern border playbook to the north.
Now, the predator becomes the prey.
BACKGROUND:
- Building America’s Future has spent nearly $2 million on advertising for its “Chaos at the Border” campaign highlighting the disastrous results caused by the Biden-Harris southern border crisis and Harris’ leadership as “Border Czar.” Examples of last year’s ad campaigns are as followed:
- BAF launched #SayTheirNames in August, which was backed by over $500,000 in spending in key battleground states and focused on highlighting the innocent lives that have been lost across the country because of Harris’ refusal to address the ongoing crisis at the southern border.
- The ad ran on digital platforms in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin bracketing Harris’s acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention.
- The group ran a five-figure digital ad buy across battleground House districts highlighting Democrat opposition to the SAVE Act. The SAVE Act is a bill that will keep illegal immigrants from voting in federal elections.
- “Again” bracketed the first presidential debate in Atlanta, Georgia and was a follow up from the viral “Run” ad that highlighted murders by illegal immigrants and pinned the blame on the Biden Administration.
- “Trump was Right” was a six-figure digital ad that used Donald Trump’s prophetic comments about illegal immigration to hammer Joe Biden for the dangerous results of his open border agenda.
